About Me & Simplicity

Born and raised in Austin, Texas, I have always had a desire to create and work with my hands. My passion for jewelry began in the summers of my childhood when I would intensely work on beading projects with my mom and sister. At the same time, my enthusiasm to understand how everyday objects worked was being fueled through attempting to help my dad repair or modify whatever he was working on around the house.

I graduated from the University of North Texas in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design. Since then I have been working in custom fine jewelry design and repair.

I often feel overwhelmed by the complex world we live in, and creating helps me understand the physical, mental, and emotional ordeals that we all push through every day. When I am able to retreat into myself and express what I find through something I want to put on my body and show the world, I feel that I have transformed a diverse collection of emotion and energy into something that has a true radiance to it.

The repetition of simplicity in my work is meditative for me, and is a constant reminder that moving forward is a step by step process. I strive to not only express myself through my work, but to help others express themselves too. Jewelry has always been an incredibly intimate part of human life, and to this day is a special way for us to silently communicate to the world about who we are.
